The next book in line

Okay I spent all day yesterday working on a plot for my new book, Cowboys Don't Play. So I think it's safe to say that it's the next book in line to be written by me. It will become book 4 in the Riding Western Style book series and will also be a m/f/m menage.

I have to give a shout out to Melody Snow Monroe for helping me. I think I am going to borrow her color coding system to help me make sure I achieve enough emotional conflict and development in the story. This book will also be highly sexual. At least a third I hope will be sexual development and fulfillment. Yeah! I'm back baby. Full steam ahead...

So here's the loosely worded blurb I am working with. Things may change and I may end up re-working the blurb or the story, but this is it so far.

COWBOYS DON'T PLAY

Ten years ago, Stella walked out of Trace and Taylor’s life and neither man would blame her if she never came back, but they always wondered what could have happened if they took up her offer the night before she left. If they shared a night of lovemaking so many years ago as teenagers would she have stayed with two country boys like them?

Fast forward to today and the woman that has been haunting their dreams is standing in front of Trace and Taylor, in the flesh. She needs a place to stay and the entire town of SunnyBrook is booked up and the only place she can go with an open bed is their dude ranch

It’s time she finds out that cowboys don’t play. If she wants to stay by their side they are demanding she play the part of their wife.

Chapter One

The Troll King was overly fond of treasure, and the throne he sat upon was a collection of his most prized precious gems and golden objects. The sparkly bits caught every bit of the light even in his cave home, but the effect was probably not as grand or pompous as he intended to make it. Through Jewel’s eyes, the throne appeared to be more like a pile of sparkly trash and didn’t look very comfortable to sit upon at all.
Jewel had an appreciation for pretty and expensive things as well as the next girl, but she would have chosen something a little more comfortable to sit upon if their positions were reversed. Of course, she really wouldn’t like to be here at all.
She hated being underground. It limited her options for escape and made her feel trapped.
The Troll King’s scaly minions dragged her here to face him, bound and gagged.
It was the only way they could get her to come without losing a body part or two to see him. When the trolls were within ten feet of his chair, they dropped her like a sack of potatoes and she fell awkwardly, scrambling to push up to her knees. She glared at him, imagining what it would be like to attack his person and do him bodily harm. The Troll King surrounded himself with an army of trolls and creatures with twisted forms and dirty bodies. But he was the most disgusting of all with his two-inch fanged teeth that poked out from his mouth. He had a shaggy beard that covered his neck, and the clothes he wore couldn’t have been washed in this century. The musty stench had an unmistakable edge to it that couldn’t possibly be natural. Part of it was being in the dark cave, lit only by torches, and it was always musty and damp in places like this.
But the bigger part of the bad smells in the small chamber came directly from him. She knew his kind had a natural aversion to soap and water. Trolls were dirty, filthy creatures that she’d always avoided given the opportunity.
“Well, well, well.” He grinned at her, sharing a yellowed, toothy, jagged smile. “What have we here? Is it dinner?”
A shiver travelled up her spine, and her eyes widened in fear. He better damn well be kidding.
“Nay, my liege. It is Jewel, the common thief you requested.” The shorter troll snorted through his piglike snout. His portly body ambled forward, and his head dipped down, honoring his leader.
“Interesting, I didn’t expect such a weak and skinny human.” The Troll King tapped his chin thoughtfully, and his lips twisted up in a thin, cruel smile, framed by two saber teeth on either side. The crown of thorns and weeds on his head seemed to catch the dim light and glowed as he tilted his head. “Release her gag so I can speak to her.”
“As you wish.” The taller of her two captors released her gag but didn’t touch her ropes that bound her wrists and ankles. After the fight she put up in town, he knew better. She would be happy to take another try at castrating him with his own knife for the way he treated her.
“Are you the Jewel of the Jaguar? The assassin and thief who stole the Fairy Queen’s book of spells?” One shaggy brow lifted high in morbid curiosity. His dark eyes sparkled in repressed glee.
Damn!
Was that what this was all about? Curse her rotten luck for getting involved with anything to do in the magical realm. She ground her teeth with the memories. Ever since she pulled that spellbook heist off, she was getting all kinds of notoriety, and it didn’t matter that she had since returned the book. After that job, she gained a reputation that people expected her to live up to, and she seemed to gain some unwanted attention from some very unsavory characters.
She spat out the bad taste in her mouth and cleared her throat with a loud cough. Her mouth had become dry, and her tongue was thick from hours with the gag in her mouth. She said with venom in her voice, “Are you the Troll King Luther, whose stench precedes you?”
She really didn’t want anything to do with whatever his high and mighty self had dragged her butt down in this hole to do and wanted him to know exactly how she felt.
“Show our King some respect!” The troll on her left with the scar running across his eye kicked her in the side of her ribs. She doubled over in gut-wrenching pain. He chuckled cruelly when he saw her forced bow. “That’s better, thief.”
The troll to her right answered his question for her. “She’s the thief you wanted all right. I saw a fairy’s light in her room, protecting her while she slept. No human would have that without some trickery on their part, and the entire town talked of her legendary deeds.”
“Feisty. I like it. Maybe I won’t eat you for dinner.” The Troll King’s mouth gaped open in a threatening smile, and his intense gaze pierced her like a knife.
She frowned at the disgusting idea of having her flesh ripped off her bones by his sharp, sharklike teeth, and kept very quiet. Whatever his plans were, she knew instinctively she wouldn’t like it.
“As you may have heard, the dragons in this land have been hunting my people, killing my countrymen, and destroying many of the homes we have taken generations to build. It’s why we have to hide in these holes, and even now, they hunt us down like dogs.”
“Mmm, yes. Dragons are bloodthirsty creatures,” she agreed as if she faced down dragons everyday while keeping her gaze on the king, but worked at the knot at her ankles with her fingers. He was crazy if she thought she’d be going anywhere near a dragon. So this conversation was pointless as far as she was concerned.
“They killed my brother,” he said with venom in his voice.
“So you want revenge? I think you found the wrong woman. You were probably looking for a mercenary or a hired sword, not a thief like me. I don’t deal in the revenge field. I find it too bloody a sport. Someone almost always dies.” She wasn’t about to get involved in some war between trolls and dragons.
“Don’t toy with me. I know your skills, dear.” His façade was not very pretty, and while most of it repulsed her from the rough skin, to the wart on his chin, she had to admit his eyes were the most gorgeous color of green, sparkling like an emerald in the dim light.
“I’m a thief, not a warrior,” she spat.
Damn. Why didn’t she retire years ago? At her age, she should be living in the country married and with children. Instead she was here somewhere hundreds of feet below the surface in the Troll King’s court.
She needed a career change.
“So you only kill by necessity?” One shaggy brow shot up as if he discounted her last statement entirely.
“As a rule, I don’t like killing. But between you and me, I wouldn’t blink if the opportunity presented itself today.” She shrugged, sincerely hoping he couldn’t see her false bravery. She could handle her bow like a professional and shoot a dove at sixty paces right through the eye, but she still regretted the day she let those hunting skills transfer to a human. Murder for hire was a bad business to be in. She hated the blood and the guilt that weighed on her heart, and it was never worth a pile of gold that never melted away an ounce of her guilt. She preferred the life of a thief to that of an assassin.
“I am sure the opportunity will present itself once again.” His cocky assurance pissed her off. He not only wanted her to kill, but he wanted her to kill for him.
She didn’t like being dragged out of bed in the middle of the night any more than she liked him thinking she would agree to do anything for him just because he asked.
“I haven’t agreed to work for you yet. What’s the job?” Two more seconds and she would have her knots free on her wrists, too. Then it would be so long Troll King and hello sunlight. She was much faster than their short, ambling bodies, and she could easily outrun anyone who dared to pursue her.
“Stealing back my treasure and killing the two red dragons that guard it.” His eyes twinkled in mischief and delight. His long scraggly fingers grew white knuckles as he clutched the arm of his chair. He had experienced much grief by the dragons in this valley, and he looked as if he enjoyed the thought of their death a little too much. His mouth twisted up in a cruel smile.
She let a pause go by as if she was seriously considering his offer.
“So let me get this straight. You want me to slay two red fire dragons and steal a mountain of treasure they have hidden in their home?” She was no idiot. She knew the dragon colors meant something, and the red dragons were fire elemental dragons with magic that could kill her with one sweep of their claw. Red dragons were extremely temperamental and hot blooded. They also had a thing for collecting pretty shiny things, and their treasure chamber was likely to rival a miniature mountain range from centuries of collecting and hoarding. She doubted it was all the Troll King’s gold, and he was probably asking for more than his fair share of the treasure.
“Exactly,” the Troll King confirmed.
The silence was deafening. Everyone waited for her answer on the subject.
“Hmm. Sounds like a good way to die. What are you offering me to do this job?” she asked skeptically, not that she was actually considering such a ludicrous offer. She just needed to kill time to make her break for freedom. She had been working the knots on the ropes for some time now. She was nearly done.
“Your life…” He arched one eyebrow high for her. He was amused she would ask for anything in return as if everyone lived to serve him.
“Not good enough. You should call a professional dragon slayer. They could do this job for you with no problem, but I am not a dragon hunter or a killer.” She stood up, and the ropes dropped to the floor in a pile. Everyone on the small room seemed surprised, and she was able to take advantage of that lack of action. She sidestepped and stole the short blade from the soldier’s belt that was closest to her and warily walked away. “Thank you for the pleasure of meeting, your highness, but if you don’t mind, I will be leaving now.”
“Then I will just have to kill your brother.” His shaggy brows dropped to cover his glittering eyes. Anger lit up his features, and his cruel smile gave her no doubt he would do such a horrible thing.
She froze.
“You’re bluffing.” She felt fear travel the length of her spine, sending chills across her body. He had one hell of a poker face if he was bluffing.
King Luther tilted his head back and snapped his fingers. The tall troll closest to Jewel hobbled over to him with hunched shoulders and pulled out a stick from his long cloak. The soldier presented his king with a walking cane. Jewel recognized it immediately and gasped. It was the one her father had carved for Timmy when he had come down with polio. He had customized it so her brother could use it as a crutch when he was young and a cane as he got older. The smooth lines of the tree were carved into a snake that seemed to crawl up the stick, and at the top was a dragon’s claw clutching a precious stone. She had brought him the piece of jade to use, and he had incorporated it as the crowning jewel.
The only way they could have gotten it was to take it from him by force, which meant they likely had Timmy as a prisoner somewhere as well. She had only been concerned with herself and had not thought about the possibility of the trolls taking any of her family as well in the tussle last night. She weighed her options, but she really didn’t have all that many. She was on their turf—which meant she played by their rules or not at all.
“Relax, my dear. Timmy’s safe as long as you agree to cooperate with us.” He grinned wide. Luther seemed to know he had all the trump cards in this game.
What choice did she have? Cooperation would mean her death. Not cooperating would mean Timmy’s death. They may as well be sticking her heart with a knife. It would have about the same results, as trapped as she was feeling now.
“If you touch so much as a hair on his chest, I swear by every madman that walks the halls of Oniseai prison, I will kill you.” Oniseai prison was built to keep all magical beings within the walls. If criminals managed to escape, they got caught up in a maze of ever-changing rooms and halls. Eventually they went mad.
Jewel pointed the dagger directly at Luther the Troll King, prepared to shove it deep into his heart. She knew the act would be suicide on her part. She was outnumbered, but his minions may leave her alone if she threatened their leader. Her eyes narrowed dangerously, waiting to see if he accepted her challenge.
He didn’t seem to care in the slightest that she pointed the toothpick weapon at him. “Interested in my job offer yet?”
She would love to kill him just for the pure pleasure, but it wasn’t going to do her or Timmy any good until she knew what they did to him and where they kept him. She needed to remain calm. It was always her temper which got her into trouble.
She relaxed her posture, knowing a fight would be futile now. Too much was at stake. While she didn’t give a rat’s ass about herself, her crippled brother couldn’t defend himself from the likes of these wicked creatures. She tucked the knife into her belt, for later. “All you want is the gold?”
He nodded, spittle spilling from his lips as he spoke. “I want all of it. Every last doubloon. Those two dragons stole what is rightfully mine, and I won’t rest until it is returned to me, but I can’t risk any of my men going with you.”
“Afraid they might die?” She folded her arms defiantly over her chest. He was sending her on a suicide mission. They both knew it. She was just acknowledging that sad fact. He didn’t want to risk his men because it was unlikely they would come back alive.
He shrugged as if he really didn’t give a damn. “You will have an easier time slipping in the cave and slitting their throats without a lot of men to slow you down.”
“Hmmph.” She snorted out through her nose. It may have gotten a laugh out of her if she thought there was a chance of his suggestion being a joke. “That’s a wagonload of bull crap, and you know it.”
“Tosh.” He gestured dismissively and spoke as if he were doing her a favor, “I will, however, give you whatever supplies you require for this journey.”
Jewel’s lips pursed tightly.
Luther was being generous to a fault for a stingy troll. Perhaps he would be just as generous with her wooden coffin when she was laid to rest in the cold hard ground from this little adventure he was sending her on.
“I will need a wagon to carry the gold.” Dragons were known hoarders. She couldn’t imagine carrying back everything in one trip. She tried to think about everything she might need, but one item she remembered from reading the book of spells she had stolen from the Fairy Court. It may come in handy when dealing with dragons. “I will also require food, and Dragon’s Bane.”
The Troll King Luther didn’t bat an eyelash at the last request, but then again he probably knew what the weed was for, unlike most humans. She learned about the toxin of the rare plant when she stole the book of spells from the Fairy Queen. She had managed to read a little of it before she returned the book. “Done.”
She forced her body to relax. This situation may just turn out okay in the end.
Jewel had no idea where Dragon’s Bane grew or how to get it, but she knew how to use it, and in a dangerous game like this one, that was what counted.

Meet the Characters from Alien Promise

So in my latest novella, there are quite a few fun characters including two of the sexiest warriors you may ever meet and you don't even have to leave the planet for this kind of fun. Meet the characters straight out of my newest erotic romance book, Alien Promise.

Cast of characters:

Saber is exceptionally tall at seven foot six inches and built like a pro wrestler. He has light blue skin tinted by the ultra violet rays of his sun and while he is on the planet earth it has faded until he returns to his home planet. He is a Krillian soldier and acts the part of a warrior. When he sees something he wants, he just takes it, especially when it’s his mate.

Ryder is a twin brother to Saber with shoulder length brown hair and blue skin. His hazel eyes change color with his emotions, and when he is deep in lust they glow a brilliant shade of amber. He is also a warrior on his home planet, but he has a gentle way of making people believe he is their friend.

Heroine: Lily has always considered herself kind of geeky, and never the kind of girl to garner the attention of two sexy hunks who are out of this world hot. She has straight auburn hair that she always wears in a french twist at the back of her neck, in a librarian style and she wears glasses that cover up her beautiful green eyes, but the warriors can see beyond her clothes and the beauty that lies within and there is no doubt, they want to possess her.

Presidential candidate: Mitch O'Reilly is running for president, but unluckily enough he is targeted for assassination and world takeover by the criminal mastermind, Girvan Lee. He is older, balding and has a family that will miss him if Girvan's plan succeeds.

Criminal: Girvan Lee is a criminal mastermind who seeks power and world domination. He has escaped sentencing on Krilia for attempting to take over the planet, but is not ready to give up hope and has set his sights on Earth for world takeover. Saber and Ryder will not leave until they have their alien in chains but Girvan isn't willing to give up so easily either.

Computer name: NOLA is the computer that runs the space shuttle. She controls the environment and has state of the art voice recognition software. She is programmed to have a personality and to keep the travelers company but also makes synthesized food and controls every aspect of the space shuttle and the travel.

New Adult Excerpt for Alien Promise

ALIEN PROMISE

by Missy Lyons
ADULT EXCERPT

“We want to mate you, Lillian Greene. Neither of us wants to hold back.” His eyes hardened and deepened to a dark-honey color. Every time his eye color changed she found herself trying to figure him out. What was he feeling? His free hand flicked her nipple, and she arched against him as he cupped her breast in his hand. “Do you have a family that will miss you if you come home with us?”

“No.” She let out a sigh as his engorged cock pulsed between her thighs. If only he would position himself a little higher, the pressure on her clit might get some relief. What did she have to lose? It could be an adventure, crossing the galaxy with two of the sexiest warriors she had ever laid eyes on. An adventure she hoped would go on and on, in and out of bed. She had never felt this horny with anyone, let alone two guys. If she had to choose between the men when they were lined up, she wasn’t sure she could. “No family. My parents are dead. I am not even sure my job would miss me at this point. Mitch may not even remember me or need me.”

Her toes curled as he let go of her hands and slid further down her body. “I have waited so long. I have wanted to know what you feel wrapped around my cock since the day I met you.”

“Yeeeeeeessss! Give it to me. That’s what I’ve been waiting for.”

Lily felt the stubble of his beard rub against her thighs and groaned. She wanted to feel the slide of his hard cock inside her, and he held back.

Her fingers threaded through his hair as he kissed the center of her pussy. His fingers parted her pussy, and his tongue licked her flesh. He found her swollen clit and teased it to an aching nub. Her wet arousal pooled between her legs. “You taste like cream and honey.”

“Oh my!” She bucked as his tongue lapped at her flesh. It was sweet torture until he found her clit, and then it was agony. The building pressure in her womb was a raging forest fire of desire. He swept his tongue across her swollen clit, sucking and flicking it with both a tenderness and a masterful skill that nursed her lust into a frenzy.

She bucked against him, pressing her pussy up into his mouth. He chuckled, but one hand firmly pressed her abdomen down against the soft mattress and reached under her ass to lift up off the mattress and positioned her at his whim. She couldn’t do anything much but whimper.

“That feels so good. That thing you are doing with your mouth—oh my God!” Her hands muffled a scream as she bit her bottom lip, and the pressure building against her dam of restraint broke. She broke free, shattering into a million pieces as he stroked her and played her like a fine musical instrument.

“You are too good at that, stud. I am almost afraid of what you can do with that sword of yours.” His wide hand covered the expanse of her belly, and he rested against the vertex of her cunt. She had never been this relaxed with a man, especially while naked. She had always been a little self-conscious of her body. She had too many curves and she would like to be able to call herself plump, but most guys would just say fat. A size eighteen was no skinny-mini.

“It won’t be long before you find out exactly how talented I am with my cock. This belongs to me.” He placed his hand over her furry mound, sending a shiver up her spine.

She giggled a little at his possessiveness. It felt odd he would lay a claim when he insisted on waiting for his brother to actually fuck her. The anticipation was killing her. She licked her lips, feeling her horniness level jump just thinking about what would happen if or when she got both brothers in bed. “Then how is your brother going to fuck me? I thought you both wanted me.”

“This will be his.” His thumb flicked gently across her anus, massaging her butt crack.

Lily nearly flew off the bed in her surprise. “Whoa. I can’t do that—I mean I never had anyone go through the back door before.”

He rendered her speechless as he sought to calm her once again. Two fingers over her mouth quieted her. “Shh, calm yourself, Lily. We would never hurt you. Our only desire is to give you pleasure.”

“Yeah, and that kind of pleasure is going to rip me in two. Have you noticed the size of your cock is huge? If your brother is anything close to as big as you…” She shook her head, scared to death of that kind of pain. She’d never been fucked in the ass before, but if her first time was by either of the two men, it may be her last time. She didn’t need the kind of pleasure that ended in her demise.

“Calm your fears. We are compatible sexually. You won’t break.” He stroked her hair, and the motion had a soothing effect on her. “You were made for our touch. See how your body craves us? It responds the moment our skin meets with the simplest of touches.”

Her body felt the fire grow deep inside until it was a roaring wildfire. Out of control and hopelessly caught up in the moment. He circled her clit with his thumb, while one finger dipped inside her pussy rubbing her. It slipped in and out of her cunt, slowly drawing out her wildest moan. She bucked up against the palm of his hand until his finger slid deeper inside, moistened by her desire.

“Do it, Ryder!” she urged while riding his hand.

He chuckled softly to himself, his eyes glowing amber. “You are so hot.”

“Don’t forget horny.” She whimpered. She bucked again and was rewarded with another finger, stretching her wide. He never stopped playing with her clit, and he seemed to know her body better than she did, causing her to ride high on the waves of lust. When she felt she was on the edge of release, he withheld his touch, stretching out the torture and keeping her on the edge of desire.

New Story Excerpt from Alien Promise

STORY EXCERPT FROM ALIEN PROMISE
by MISSY LYONS

About the book:

Aliens are taking over the presidential election, and only one human is immune to the mind control rays. The plate in Lily Madison’s head protects her from the criminal Girvan Lee’s mind control weapons, but she is stubbornly determined to find out what is going on. Not even the sexy hunks dressed as Roman gladiators will get in her way.
Ryder and Saber Rhoma are intergalactic bounty hunters. They believe the human woman, Lily, is their life mate, but she is resistant to their charms and attempted seduction. The stubborn woman doesn’t believe she can have them both in her bed, but they must have the patience to claim their mate.
If that doesn’t work, they aren’t above abducting her to their home planet and seducing her into their shared bed.

New Excerpt from the Story:

A wall of muscle-loaded men stopped her from progressing any further in the crowd, but she was only a few feet from her goal. She clutched the clipboard to her chest and tried to push her way through. Then she looked up and froze. If she wasn’t in a hurry, she may have taken more time to stare and drool. These weren’t just any men, but two of the hottest hunks she had laid eyes on.

Ever.

Hunk number one was built like a pro wrestler and his sea-green eyes sparkled like emeralds against his skin, which was the strangest shade of light blue. It had to be makeup, but it looked damn good on his skin. His dark, braided hair whipped around in a fluid motion as if it was an extension of his body. His hair was longer than hers and fell to his waist, even braided. His square jaw and chiseled features made her insides soften, but with the combined effect of his partner, she melted.

Hunk number two was just as well built, but his hazel eyes seemed friendlier and less intense, but even when his attention wasn’t on Lily, her womanly parts were going all gaga over him and his friend. His brown locks fell to his shoulders and moved in silky waves with every motion of his body. It looked soft and smooth. Her stomach quivered and tightened, and arousal pooled in her panties. Ordinarily she would take time to stare and enjoy the view. He was worth watching. He had to spend hours at the gym to keep those large muscles, and they looked like they were pretending they were just part of the group.

But they couldn’t have stuck out more if they tried. Both of them towered above the crowd at over seven feet tall. The muscled hunks were dressed as Roman gladiators. Complete with the metal helmets and leather-strapped sandals. Yet even if they weren’t dressed in costume, they would have stuck out in any crowd. They were giants among the men here and close to seven feet tall, at least a head taller than anyone else in the room.

Lily frowned at them both.

This was no time for a publicity stunt, and the twin warriors were in her way. She had to get past them. She didn’t see the advertisement for whatever product they were selling, but they were going to learn that nobody gets in Lily Madison’s way. She pushed her arms out in front of her attempting to maneuver between them, but the solid wall of muscle was impenetrable.

“Get out of my way. I have to talk to Mitch!” Lily huffed, and stopped when neither man moved. They didn’t appear to be listening at all, but she was determined to get their attention. She fisted her hands and began to beat on the man’s chest closest to her. Damn! Nothing she did seemed to affect him. Why wouldn’t the big caveman move out of her way? “Someone has to stop this madness!”

“You are not under Girvan’s power?” The man seemed unaffected by her blows. He looked down at her with the most curious expression on his face.

“What are you talking about? That twerp had to have done something to Mitch.” She was concerned that her boss looked hypnotized. His glazed eyes were unemotional, and he may have been smiling, but his expression implied no one was home. Something was wrong, and she was determined to get to the bottom of this mystery.

“You’re in my way! I need to stop him,” she yelled.

Hunk number one, the taller of the two warriors by nearly an inch, grabbed her upper arm in a viselike grip, and she screamed. Loud as she could. Ear piercing. It was the kind of scream that would be in a horror movie right before someone got chopped up into little bitty pieces, and it had the desired effect. Muscle man let go.

However, he wasn’t the only man looking at her. Everyone in the room stopped what they were doing and stared. At. Her.

Mitch, her ex-boss stared blankly. Girvan looked concerned, and Girvan’s crown thing flashed again. She wiped her eyes and screamed one more time. He lifted his staff and pointed it at her. “Get those clowns out of here! They are disrupting everything.”

The two gladiators shielded her and abruptly closed in on her, making the wall of muscle seem even harder to evade. Lily was getting pissed. “You can’t do this. I have to stop him.”

“Look out! He’s got a weapon,” the big man on her right yelled and lifted his round shield to his shoulder protectively over her upper body.

“That’s no weapon! That’s a stick.” Lily squealed when the other big giant picked her up and threw her over his shoulder like a sack of potatoes. She kicked and screamed. “What do you think you are doing?”

A beam of light came out of the top of the staff and hit the shield of the other man. Sparks flew, and she watched in alarm as chaos broke out in the crowd.

“Protecting you,” hunk man huffed as he ran the other way. Her body jiggled and bounced as he ran. She beat his shoulder and back with fists that had no effect on him.

“Put me down. You big, stupid oaf. I am not going to be part of your stage show.” But no matter how much she pled with him, bargained, or insulted him, he didn’t seem to care. It wasn’t until they were out of the room that she gave up. She gave an exasperated sigh as the doors shut behind them, and he finally set her down on unsteady feet in the hallway outside the doors of the community center.

Lily pushed her thick, red locks of hair from her eyes to get a better look at her would-be rescuer. Although in reality she still didn’t understand what she needed rescuing from. He was dressed in classic Roman armor as a gladiator in leather and steel. He was all muscle, and if she wasn’t so pissed at him, she might have enjoyed the little caveman show he put on. He was an ass, a really cute one, but an ass all the same.

Lily wished her gushing pussy would pay attention.

An unauthorized interview

An Unauthorized elevator Interview with
Saber the bounty hunter and the war criminal Girvan lee

There’s not a reporter in the city who doesn’t want to get a scoop on what’s happening in the presidential elections, but there are things that don’t make sense. Big blue men dressed like Roman Gladiators are crashing dinner parties, showing up to private social events, and just on my way into the building today I saw two people jump from the roof and then disappear into thin air. I would have called 9-1-1 but when no one hit the pavement there didn’t seem to be anything to report. It wasn’t like I believed aliens were invading the city or anything, I just thought things were getting kind of strange.

There’s something freaky going on in this city and I aim to find out what. I wasn’t what I could call a real journalist. I worked for the college newspaper, and I had an advice column I wrote once a week, but it was enough to get a press pass around my neck. I found it helped to act more confident than I felt in big ticket events like this one and sometimes just act like I knew where I was going and what I was doing. Sometimes it was easier to get to the truth when I asked for forgiveness rather than permission.

The celebration was going on strong in the reception area, but with one look around the room I soon realized the man I wanted to interview wasn’t at his own party.

I overheard two of his security guards talking quietly in a corner of the room about Girvan Lee scoring with a couple of women upstairs in the penthouse suite.

What luck! I could corner him for a private interview on his way out and no one would be around for the excusive details but me. I was elated to have the opportunity. I might even be able to sell the story to a much larger paper. My name could be on an article that ran in the Chicago Daily or even The New York Times.

I snuck out of the party to the tower elevator and pressed the up button. I didn’t really think I would get let into the penthouse suite, but I had hopes I could get Girvan Lee to talk to me while he was leaving. Okay, technically what I was doing was probably more like stalking him, but when it comes to writing it down later, I would try to make this interview sound as professional as possible. Writing an article is all about your angle. I turned my camera on in preparation and a bell ding sounded just before the elevator doors slid opened.

Out stepped two men with a faint blueskin tone. I recognized Girvan from the publicity shots I got in my press package but the other one was hot. Tall blue and handsome looked like he belonged in an ad for Medival Times. He was at least seven feet tall and had this amazing long black hair and his eyes—oh god his eyes burned the most brilliant golden color. They held me in a spell that paralyzed me he broke the awkward silence.

“Excuse me, miss.” The sexy warrior said.

“Yes? Oh!” I suddenly realized he wasn’t trying to get my attention, but let me know I was blocking his way. I didn’t move away but I did get enough brain power going to snap a quick picture. “Sorry, I wanted a word with Mr. Girvan Lee.”

This was when I noticed he held Girvan by the scruff of his neck. I squished up nose, not quite sure if I should scream for help. I swallowed hard feeling stunned again.

“Mr. Lee is busy. He won’t be available for any more interviews today,” the tall blue man said curtly.

Girvan rolled his eyes. “Don’t be rude, Saber. Tell our pretty little earthling the whole truth.” Girvan seemed quite irritated toward his big blue friend, but then he turned to me in a hushed whisper, “Saber here is planning to take me back to his space ship and start the party upstairs. He doesn’t believe Earth should be ruled by higher life forms.”

I blinked back my surprise, unsure of how to respond to that. “What? Is this some kind of joke?”

“Girvan, what did you do with the mind control staff?” Saber asked suddenly.

“It’s back in my penthouse, of course.” Girvan’s lips twisted up in a cruel smile. “I couldn’t leave it laying around for just any Earthling to pick up.”

Suddenly tall, dark and handsome sparked a dangerous edge to him. He looked like a warrior ready to spar with anyone who dared oppose him. “Damn it, Girvan! Lady if you would come with me please I am sure we can answer all your questions.”

“The name’s not lady! Oh wait, I’m not sure that is a good idea. I can wait here for you. ” Somehow I knew Saber was ready to use force to make me go with him and I didn’t feel safe. I stumbled backwards but he managed to pull me into the elevator and still kept one hand on Girvan. He pressed a button. The door closed and I felt like a trapped animal with two very dangerous beasts beside me.

Once the elevator began its stomach churning ascent and we were alone, I began firing out the questions burning in my mind. “So you’re aliens? Why are you here?”

Saber sounded impatient but he seemed to be humoring me. “I’m a bounty hunter. I came for the war criminal, Girvan Lee. Now that we found him, I can return him to the prison planet J-14.”

I looked at Girvan Lee, quite horrified. “But you were running for president! How can you be a criminal?”

“Old habits die hard, I guess.” Girvan shrugged. “Earth seemed like it would be a nice easy place to take over and start a new life.”

“You wanted to take over the world?” My mind was racing. If the world knew how close it came to voting a criminal into office, would they be surprised? Would his rule have started another world war? As improbable as it seemed, I wanted to believe tall, blue and handsome. They both had the same story and while I knew the rest of the world would not believe it was true, in my heart I didn’t question it.

“Wouldn’t NASA know if there was a space ship that entered our atmosphere? How could that not be in the news?” I asked the obvious questions. The ones I knew I would get asked in return. No one was going to believe my article unless I had facts to back it up.

The doors on the elevator opened and I was shooed in front of the two men out into the penthouse lobby. They opened the doors and the locks for me. I tried not to be impressed, but I was used to living in a dorm room and it was nothing like this lavish display of wealth.

“NASA can’t see our ship in space and we’ve already retrieved Girvan’s wreckage. The ship has got a cloaking device on it.” Saber looked around the expansive room and then back at Girvan intensely. “Where did you put the mind control ray, Girvan?”

“Wouldn’t you like to know!” Girvan avoided the question and folded his arms.

“How about I throw you out the window and see how fast you talk?” Saber suggested.

“That’s a violation of prisoner rights. You could get a prison sentence of your own for mistreating me and that kind of misconduct.” Girvan smirked as if he had one over on his captor.

“No one will live to tell about that minor detail if you don’t talk. Now.” Saber didn’t look like he was joking with the death threat.

“It’s sitting on the bar.” Girvan admitted and I saw what I thought it might be from across the room. It was a carved wooden staff and it had a glass like object on top of one end.

“Go get it girl, and bring it back to me,” Saber demanded while looking straight at me. I shivered, not intentionally but at just the thought of going near to Saber again. Any woman would react the same way to him, blue skin and all. He was a looker, and I was not resistant to his charms.

I crossed the room and picked up the staff. It felt heavier than it looked and something about it felt…powerful. Old. I was about to hand it to Saber when I thought twice about it. I questioned why I was giving it up at all. “What is this thing?”

Saber wrapped his fingers around it and pulled it out of my grip. “This is something you Earth people are not ready for yet. It’s a weapons designed to keep the races enslaved and ensure a dictator’s reign. This, my dear, is a mind control device that is also capable of reprogramming simple life forms memories.”

It was then I understood what he meant to do. He meant to erase my memories with it as well. It was probably why he answered the questions so freely. “Why are you even answering my questions? Why not lie.” I asked feeling my heart thunder in my chest. Would it hurt when he wiped my mind clean of the memories? Would I become a vegetable afterwards or was it something that he could use selectively on only some memories?

“I could lie, if it would make you feel better, but in a few minutes you won’t remember this conversation anyways, so it doesn’t matter what I say.” Saber shrugged and then his knuckles went white on the large staff. The jewel glowed green and a brilliant light filled the room.

I saw a light flash from the end of his wooden stick and I never really knew the answer. I couldn’t even remember the questions because my memory of the day was gone.

My top 5 favorite Aliens

I told you I have a thing  for aliens. I love television shows, series, and movies with aliens in them. There is an allure behind aliens, that has mystery and a romance I can't fully describe. I want to learn more about them, but most of all I want to believe in the chance for life off this planet.

Just for fun I have made a list of my top favorite aliens that we all know and love. You can feel free to add to it if you'd like but most of these have made an impact on my life in some small way.

Marvin the Martian

The wookie from Star Wars, better known as Chewbacca

A.L.F. -Alien Life Form

Spock from Star Trek

And finally but not least is Doctor Who

I can find dozens of reason why I loved aliens. They are unpredictable in their actions, they think beyond the scope of my little life in my little town, and they make me think about things I would normally not have thought about, but most of all they are entertaining. I love watching aliens on television, reading about them and wishing they could become part of our life sometimes, but maybe we humans are not ready for it.

So there you have it. Those are my top 5 favorite aliens. Who are yours?

...Also remember I have a book coming out on January 28, called Alien Promise. It's an erotic menage romance and features two hot blue men. Be sure to pick up a copy if you have time. It's up for pre-order on the publisher site. Thank you!

My fascination with aliens

My fascination with aliens started when I was young. Probably the very first alien movie I saw, which was Star Wars made me look to the stars and wonder what was up there. Could there be a day we people interact with extraterrestrials? I am not only curious but just completely absorbed by the thought.

It's why I love any television show with aliens, why I devour science fiction books with them in it, and why I had to make sure I one day wrote an alien book of my own. Since I became a writer I have been thinking about trying my hand at an alien romance.

Alien Promise is my version of a sexy blue alien romance. It's a menage, and hopefully has everything you want in an erotic romance. Enjoy!

You can pre-order Alien Promise here at Siren Publishing.

Unresolutions and me

It's always nice to know my blog gets just enough traffic to lure in the spambots. lol

I had 10 comments waiting for me to look at them this morning and they were all about cheap mail order drugs and *coughs penis enlarging.

Yes, I could probably make false promises and tell you I am going to blog more often, but in reality it takes time from writing and I will probably be just as bad this year as I have been last year. This year I am going to try and make resolutions I can keep.

Yes, I am going to make unresolutions. Unresolutions are awesome. There are no promises to keep or break. You actually keep your promise by not doing something.

So, in honor of this momentous occasion, here is my list. This year I am not going to try to lose weight and spend hours on a machine until I leave aching and unable to walk. I am not going to starve myself until the mere sight of food brings out primal urges to hoard food and return to a caveman like state.

I do plan on leading an active life and enjoying the outdoors more with my kids and my dogs and not getting hung on the computer or the internet everyday. But this isn't changing my life much from what I have had in the past.

I am not going to push myself to write a story that stalls out. If the story is boring to me, than it is also very likely boring to my readers, and I plan to push it until we travel off the road map together and experience something unexpected. This year writer's block cannot exist for me.

I plan to keep my mouth frown free, and greet each day with a smile. Which is not much different than what I have always done. I smile a lot.

This year, I won't be reading reviews of the books I write.  I need to spend my time where my priorities lay and that means spending time on areas where I want my life to go. Reviews are like looking to the past and unless I can learn from it, it's not the place I need to spend my time.

Our happiness is dependent on our own state of mind. If we are content with what we have, and where we are in life, it is easier to be happy. Everyday my focus will be on family, writing, or my faith.

It's funny, but I like using unresolution. It means my life won't change very much, but I like my life. I hope you all have a fabulous 2013!

Interview with a vampire

Interview with a vampire
Copyright 2012 Missy Lyons

Two days after the death of Officer Perot, I was assigned his caseload and buried deep in that thick stack of paperwork was the robbery of the century. Officer Perot was a friend and while I was still grieving his loss my muddled brain was having trouble wrapping my mind around the fact there were no clues, no suspects, and no evidence of the robbery ever happening. The video tapes revealed nothing and there were no fingerprints, and I was left with nothing to go on but instinct and a pile of handwritten notes.

Since a well crafted forgery was left in place of the real necklace I reasoned the criminals were familiar with the original necklace. I had my own list of suspects which was longer than Officer Perot’s scribbled notepad and included the museum employees who had come into contact with the jewelry or were involved in the security of the museum.

I had a hard time believing a complete stranger to the museum would break in and be able to deactivate every security measure they had to steal the blood diamond. It was so completely unlikely I nearly disregarded the idea altogether. This case was going to be difficult to solve if not impossible with so few clues or leads.

The fact remained however that the blood diamond necklace was missing from the Louvre museum and since the item stolen was only on loan, the Corrigan Family was lighting a fire under my ass to find it with mafia like tactics and threats that didn’t go unheeded.

Just the memory of the pasty looking man confronting me in my office yesterday was unnerving. Mr. Corrigan kept covered up with a ball cap hiding his bald head and a heavy jacket on even in the summer months but his eyes were those of a hunter. Predatory and unafraid to hurt anyone who got into his way. At our first meeting I didn’t like him and he made it clear he didn’t like me, but now that Officer Perot was dead I had to be trusted enough to finish the job.

Part of me wondered if he were involved in my friend’s disappearance. The eerie thought that John’s death wasn’t an accident as first reported was enough to leave me hot and uncomfortable.

I loosened the top button from my tight-fitting button down shirt relieving myself enough to breathe and drank deeply of the coffee from my black chipped cup. I looked up to seeing Karen staring at me with a humorous smiled lingering on her lips. I was grumpy and didn’t like being caught in my daydream. “Is my appointment here?”

The intern response was curt but to the point, “Christopher is in the interrogation room now waiting for you.”

I didn’t think this lead would go anywhere, but Officer Perot had already set up the interview for me and if I could gather any information I would be better off than I was now. I grabbed the case file and my full cup of coffee in the other hand and got up to do my interview. It was a private room with only a few chairs, a table and a video monitor.

My intern, Karen was positively giddy when she jumped to open the door for me. Her hand paused on the knob and her cheeks lit up in a bright shade of crimson. “Wait until you get a load of him. He is positively hunky. Total eye candy.”

“You forgot to mention he was a gazillionaire too. Is that what you were smiling about?” I sighed deeply and rolled my eyes for her benefit, not mine. She was young and inexperienced but despite my single status I wasn’t looking for a date. “I’m here to get to the bottom of this case, not look at eye candy. Now if you excuse me I need you to get out of my way.”

She grinned and giggled like a school girl before she opened the door for me Her bright blue eyes were filled with romance and it was likely her head was filled with hopeless daydreams about stealing the heart of the stud inside. “Don’t tell me I didn’t warn you.”

I didn’t answer her, and I really didn’t feel like I needed to. I stepped inside clutching the file to my breasts when I saw him for the first time. I stopped abruptly taking in his bulky frame and very masculine body. He had a square jaw and silky dark hair that framed his olive skinned face. Christopher was dressed in a dark suite, and a grey striped tied that centered between his broad shoulders. The edges of his mouth perked up into a light smile when his sky blue eyes set up on me for the first time, crushing my heart in his grip.

This was a man of power. People and money circled around him because of his gravitational pull. Women could orgasm off the sight of his smile. I shouldn’t be surprised he had this strange effect on me just because he looked at me but I was. It wasn’t often I was in the presence of a man of money and affluence, but I could see why women would want to please him and men would want to be him.

I paused and gathered myself together. It wouldn’t do to fall apart when I was supposed to be the one in control. I heard the door close behind me, locking me in with this very hot man. I was completely alone with him. I jumped slightly and he appeared to be pleased by my reaction.

I really couldn’t allow him to affect me like this. I cleared my throat and purposefully sat down at the table in the only other chair mere inches from him.

Christopher placed his long calloused fingers on the table in front of him. “What a pleasure, Mrs….?

I set down my coffee and my file on the table and scooted my chair forward under the table. “Please I don’t wish to be formal here. You may call me, Antoinette.”

“It’s an unusual name,” he remarked.

“It was a gift from my father. He was a history major, and I sometimes think he wished we weren’t born in this century, but this interview wasn’t supposed to be about me. Thank you for coming today. Officer Perot regrettably couldn’t make it.”

“Oh?” His facial features were glacial and his countenance was stoic.

“Yes, unfortunately he died.” A lump rose in my throat. It would be a long time before I felt at peace with how suddenly I lost my good friend. The police station was a colder place to work without him. It didn’t seem right someone I loved could be stolen so quickly.

“Is that why you have me here?” His eyes bore into me like ice, challenging me. One thick eyebrow jogged high.

“No, it appears to have been an accident and there isn’t an investigation open at this time. What I need your help with is about another matter altogether. I understand you are a generous donor to the Louvre museum.”

“Well, yes but that’s not a crime,” his answer came reluctantly.

“No it’s not, but Louvre had the blood diamond necklace come up stolen,” I paused, waiting for his reaction to that news. This wasn’t public information and the media had not let anyone know, so he should be surprised or at the very least shocked at this statement.

He appeared completely unaffected. “So?”

His steely eyes bore into me, making me quite uncomfortable. I scooted back in my seat until I rested against the very back of it. My mind was working overtime again trying to interpret his response and see a deeper meaning where there wasn’t one. He looked bored out of his mind, his body conveyed his disdain and on top of everything he had this raw magnetic sex appeal that called to the inner diva inside of me and made me want to be claimed by him.

I licked my lips, suddenly aware I had to press my legs tightly together to keep the building pressure under control. I looked down at the table, anywhere else to avoid the intensity of his gaze. My head had grown dizzy and I felt my face flush and this interview had grown awkward and uncomfortable. “So, in Officer’s Perot’s notes there was an unusual amount of interest from your guests the night of the premiere.”

His blue eyes grew more intense. Darker and more dangerous to me, he screamed sex and not just any sex, but the kind of raw animal mating that melted my insides and curled my toes.

The breath caught in my throat as he angled his head towards me. That ever so slight movement made me feel like a deer caught in the headlights waiting for my inevitable death. I was frozen in fear and there was something else underlying his cool countenance…Something I wasn’t sure I liked or understood about this man.

“The night of the premiere? A lot of people were interested. The necklace had not been on display for hundreds of years. Why should you think I would be of more interest than anyone else, Miss Antoinette?”

“Everyone is of equal interest to me. I assure you.” I shifted in my seat uncomfortably.

“Make your point.” Christpher’s distinguished face had darkened and become brooding.

“I was hoping you might be able to tell me about anyone at the party who was interested in the blood diamond.”

“I am afraid I don’t have any information to help you solve this case. That night I was enjoying myself and there were so many people there, all the faces were a blur. The wine must have gone to my head.” He shrugged.

I didn’t believe him. He was too calm, too at ease. I didn’t have any proof to say he was involved, but I didn’t believe Christopher was being completely honest with me either. “Why is it I think nothing goes to your head? You had a date that night that expressed much interest about the blood diamond to Officer Perot while he worked security detail that night.”

His hooded eyes narrowed dangerously in on me. There was a feral growl underlying his heated words. “As if a hundred other people didn’t walk into that room and look at the display too. I am not sure I like where this interview is going but you’re wasting my time. If you need me, you know where I can be reached. I’m afraid this interview is over, Miss Antoinette, unless you would like to continue with my lawyers present?”

“Not at this time,” I replied curtly. I didn’t have any proof to accuse him or charge him with a crime and the lawyers wouldn’t allow me to get anywhere with him. The best thing I could do is let him walk out and hope he led me to the blood diamond later or would become more cooperative in the future.

I watched him get up and leave. I didn’t want to stop him or press my luck but I felt Christopher D’Angelo knew a lot more than he was telling me and so did Mr. Corrigan for that matter. I shivered slightly and goosebumps rose on my flesh.  If those two ever got into a battle, I didn’t want to be in between either one of them. They were dangerous men.

My interview left me with more questions than answers today.

The blood diamond was still missing, my good friend was still dead and I was no closer to solving the crime than I was at the beginning of the night. A queasy feeling entered the pit of my stomach and I tightened uncomfortably near my middle. Somehow I had the feeling I was way over my head in this and the mystery was bigger than a thief in the night. I just didn’t know what it was.

The real question remained: Did I really want to know the answers?
