We have a theme this month for this blog and at least I know what I need to write about. My most memorable event where I received chocolate or roses and of course I will be doing a giveaway.
I have gotten flowers in the past, roses of every color. I even buy them myself when I want to have flowers in the house, but my current husband never gets me flowers. No roses on mother's day, nor on Valentine's Day. He's not real romantic, so when he does make a gesture it seems to mean more.
Well, my first day I got roses from him was very special to me. It was also the day I delivered my first child and I had a healthy baby girl laying in my arms. My body didn't feel real good, and I was tore up down there. He was by my side during the delivery so I didn't expect flowers or anything from him, but he went home and came in the next day with two dozen red roses and three of my favorite chocolate bars.
It was divine and I was struck with how very sweet the gesture was.
It was also one of the sweetest times I received either chocolate or roses. It wasn't because we fought or because he was trying to make me sweet on him, but it was just wonderful.
Now that you listened to me blather, I am going to talk about my books and what I am offering in my current contest. I have had three recent releases and all of them center around the beach. I love going to the beach, listening to the ocean, and tasting the salt in the air. It's like going home to me, and because of that you are seeing it in my work. The beach is a recurring theme.

A childhood memory about roses? I do have one - not romantic but it stays in my mind. My mother did not have a green thumb - it was black. But the house we bought had the most beautiful rose garden. My mom and I would take our gloves and pruning sheer out every night and snip at the dying blooms. I hadn't thought of that in years.
Wow... I'm the only one to have commented so far!!!

Brings back a lovely memory of ancient pink climbing roses smelling so sweet at my grandmother's house. Rita Bay
My grandmother ad old metal garden chairs that we had to paint in preparation for the summer. Sometimes on a hot day I can still hear them squeak.
One of my fave childhood memory is going out to the garden with my grandfather, picking a watermelon from the patch, cutting it open right there and eating it under the tree. It was so sweet and juicy!! Then flying high on the rope swing afterwards. It was awesome!
